Founders heading into 2027 have one more chance to get tactical advice from people who’ve built, funded and scaled companies. TechCrunch Founder Summit takes over Boston this Wednesday, and organizers describe it as a full-day crash course rather than a giant conference.

What Is Founder Summit?
Founder Summit is a smaller, more hands-on event than TechCrunch Disrupt. Organizers say it’s designed for founders who want to dig into the mechanics of building a company, from legal and hiring to marketing and leadership. The event was formerly called Early Stage and All Stage, with the same mission under a new name.
Who Is Speaking
The agenda leans heavily into fundraising, AI-first companies and leadership. Sessions include:
- Steve Fredette (Toast co-founder) on keeping a company relevant as technology and customer expectations change
- Chase Garbarino (HqO co-founder and CEO) on building a category-defining company outside Silicon Valley after raising $200 million and expanding to 30+ countries
- Kent Bennett (Bessemer Venture Partners) on validating demand before scaling
- Lior Div (7AI co-founder and CEO) on what changes when AI is the foundation of a company
- Vineet Edupuganti (Cogent Security CEO) on evaluating investors beyond valuation
- Tina Tosukhowong (TDK Ventures) on spotting a “king of the hill” startup
- Dave Balter (TrueVentures partner and Edisyl CEO) on pitching in a way that sparks continued conversation
The “So You Think You Can Pitch?” Contest
Three early-stage startups will have four minutes each to impress a panel of judges. Even if you’re not competing, the pitches and the judges’ feedback offer practical lessons for your own presentations.
More Than Panels
Beyond the main stage, Founder Summit includes breakout sessions on specific topics and networking through the Braindate app. Founders with similar challenges can pair up, and investors can meet new founders. Founder Summit week runs November 1 to 7, with side events across Boston.
Ticket Prices
As of TechCrunch’s post, tiers were:
- Investor: $499
- Founder: $299
- Student: $149
A buy-one-get-one-free offer gives a second ticket to a co-founder or colleague, and groups of four or more can access bundles. Pricing has moved in phases, so check the official site for current rates before you buy. The volunteer application window closed October 19.
Getting There
SoWa Power Station is reachable by public transit. It’s a short walk from the Back Bay and Tufts Medical Center stops on the Orange Line, or the Broadway stop on the Red Line.
Who Should Go
Early-stage founders planning their 2027 hiring and fundraising, aspiring founders and students building a network, and investors looking for East Coast talent will find the most value here.
